Staying With Relatives (2013)
Staying with relatives is a series of 7 wall pieces developed for Salon/Kant. By studying the pressure technique of embroidery-rings the work came about. The individual circles consist of 3 parts of which 2 parts wood and 1 plastic. These 3 separate parts are kept together by 2 metal tie raps on the outside (these are not visible in this picture). Inside the circles strips of different materials are pinched in different shapes and kept in place by pressure and clay. The work can be completely taken apart and is kept together by pressure.
Technique/Medium: Wood, pom plastic, bandimex (tie rap), synthetic clay, various types of rubber, felt, various plastics.
Dimensions: Circle wit a diameter of 70 cm and a thickness of 6cm.
